While Laura and the boys are enjoying short-sleeves weather
on the North Island, Christchurch (on the South Island) has just been hit with an early winter
snowfall. I knew that snow was a
possibility, but with rain last night, I figured that not much would
stick. I was wrong.
It’s been snowing steadily all day, and where I am, it has
probably snowed 7-8 inches already and it is still coming down. I was supposed to do school visits today and tomorrow,
but those look like they will have to be moved back to the week after next when
we return from our Campervan excursion.
After staying in my hotel room most of the day, I ventured
out to a local park/ nature reserve called the Groynes. The attached pictures are from that
walk.
